Explore the relationship that exist between bivariate variables
Make predictions based on the equation of the line of best fit
NC Standards:
North Carolina Course of Study- Algebra Objectives 3.03 Create linear models for sets of data to solve problems. b.) Check the model for goodness-of-fit and use the model, where appropriate, to draw conclusions or make predictions.
Description of the Lesson :
In this lesson, students will work as team members on a WebQuest to gather information on hurricanes. They will first practice plotting data points and getting the line of best fit. Once they have plotted and examined the values, they will determine whether a correlation exists between the variables they chose to explore.
Materials Needed and Technologies Used:
· Computer with Internet connection · Graph paper · Calculator
